The NETWORK was officially founded in 1993 by three farmworker groups to coordinate and support their mutual work related to health and environmental issues. Currently, nine organizations comprise the Network. These organizations are in the front line of the movement to stop the poisoning of agricultural workers in the fields, and to change environmental and economic policy in agriculture.

Strengthen and grow farmworker organizations and group of communities, as a means of self-representation for workers and familie members.
Support the sustain-ability and retain-ability of agriculture.
Assure higher standards of safety and quality in agricultural products for consumers.
Make farmworkers more visible as a vital workforce for environmental justice that contributes data, insight, and strategic action to the support of environmental justice
Pave the way for concrete improvements in the lives of people of color over the next ten to fifty years.
Develop strategies to capitalize and build on the assets of the past and current environmental justice movement.
